iPixel Treatment

About iPixel

The iPixel Laser is a pioneering, FDA approved, non-invasive treatment that uses the very latest light technology to help reverse the signs of aging and also reduce the appearance of scars and pigmentation. It combines the proven effectiveness of an ablative approach (aggressive lasers that remove the outer layer of skin) with the client-comfort level and convenience of a non-ablative approach. It has even less downtime than other laser resurfacing technologies on the market.

How does it work?

The iPixel laser pulses create tiny ablative zones, removing the epidermis and upper dermis. The treatment then triggers the body’s natural healing process, stimulating the growth of new healthy tissue. The procedure treats small zones of skin, leaving the surrounding tissue untouched and intact. These large unaffected areas act as a reservoir for more effective and rapid healing and collagen production.

The results: new, healthier, smoother tissue in place of old skin imperfections. You’ll see dramatic improvement in the tone and texture of your skin – immediately.
iPixel treatments are safe and effective, without having to resort to injections or surgery. Downtime is minimal; you can expect your skin to be flushed and red after the treatment, similar to a mild sunburn. As new skin replaces dead tissue, your skin will flake; a sign that healing is well underway. Your skin will look better immediately and will steadily improve over the next few months.
Compared to other methods, iPixel skin resurfacing saves you time and discomfort and offers the best of both worlds – superior results, yet minimal downtime.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does iPixel Treatment take?

Treatment time varies from individual but usually takes under 30 minutes per session.
Our specialist will discuss treatment time, frequency and just what to expect when you arrive for your free initial consultation. A course of four to six treatments; one every four to six weeks, is recommended for optimal results, and once you have completed your initial course of treatments you can get a top-up maintenance session every 6 – 12 months.

Is there any downtime after iPixel?

As iPixel is fractional laser and uses thermal heat, there is a relatively quick healing time. You will experience redness in area for a couple of days, and your skin will feel quite dry for about a week. It’s important to keep it well moisturised in the seven days after treatment, so you can talk to your skin therapist about the most effective moisturisers for use on treated skin.

Does iPixel treatment hurt?

As with all treatments, pain tolerance varies from person to person. After iPixel treatments skin feels as if it has sunburn, but during the procedure we use a cooling device so the actual laser treatment itself is virtually pain free. iPixel resurfacing treatments are performed all over the world and continue to be a safe and extremely effective way of rejuvenating your skin. Come in for a free skin consultation and one of our experts will assess your suitability.

Does iPixel Really Work for Acne Scarring?

It’s one of the most effective treatments for scarring available on the market. You may have seen it used for acne scarring on Channel 4’s Embarrassing Bodies.

The iPixel is directed onto the damaged areas of skin, and it removes cells from the epidermis and upper dermis in small areas-little dots referred to as ‘pixels’. This means that the skin heals very quickly, as only a portion of it-the damaged parts-has been affected. The surrounding skin is untouched.
